885 T & SD Card

The music can be in folders at the highest level as Juggernaut shows... though I don't know if organizing them under a single 'music' folder works too.

So have route gpx but they don't sound off or chime. So should I be using manual or automatic mode.

Can I put several different gpx files in this folder?

Should they be sub directed. Such as

H:\Garmin\POI\Routes
H:\Garmin\POI\Tim Hortons
H:\Garmin\Poi\Arenas ON CDA

if not, guess they'll all have to be in 1 folder to use this poi loader to transfer from computer to the sd card.

I make up a file folder for each poi so I can put the icon and sound if desired in the file also. Easier to keep track of too.
All the poi file folders are in a file folder I name poi followed by the date of the last traffic/speed camera file uploaded so I know how long it's been since the last update was done.
Making up a file folder for each poi also makes it easier (for me anyway) to label some as TourGuide if you want to know when one of these places is close by.

With the 885T just use POI Loader and it will create the correct folders on the SD card and install the new POI file it creates there. The 885T has 4GB of storage so really no need to store the rather small custom POI file that is created on the SD card.

IMPORTANT!!!
With the 8x5 series you have to force a hard reboot in order to access the new POI custom files you just loaded. You can either hold the on-off switch in the off position for about 10 seconds or remove the battery and reinstall it. The files will be there after completing the hard reboot. You must do that each time you load new custom POI files before they will show up.

Also remember each time you run POI loader the existing POI file is replaced so you must load all custom pOI's you want each time it is run.

As was stated, just use the poi loader, highlight the file that contains all the poi files you want uploaded and it will do the rest of the work for you.
