See http://www.poi-factory.com/node/25743 for using excel tomake custom pois and save as a csv file.
You can use Extra Poi Editor to take csv files and convert to gpx.
You can download Extra Poi Editor at http://turboccc.wikispaces.com/Extra_POI_Editor . When you download the program if you get message about OCX file missing scroll down on the main page and under troubleshooting you will find the Extra Poi Editor Installer that you will need to download. Once installation is completed you will need to set up the preferences you want first. Under options click on preferences. For example using ft for input. Under units you will see editor, select Imperial/US. For Field Read select metric and Field save select Metric. After setting your preferences click on file and click open to select from your computer the file you want to covert to a gpx file.
Note both a csv and gpx file already for Flying J see http://www.poi-factory.com/node/491 .

Download the GPX versions and save yourself the trouble of trying to convert the CSV files. I maintain both of those GPX versions and they have A LOT more data than what you would get from converting the CSV.

My post above outlines
My post above outlines that http://www.poi-factory.com/node/25743 .If you have the file in proper format in excel all you do is. Go to file at top left of Excel sheet and click on it and select save as.
Under File name put the name of the file. Under Save as type click on down arrow and find CSV (Comma delimited). Now click save.
You now have a CSV file.

There are CSV (comma separated values) files, GPX (GPs eXchange format) files and GPI (Garmin's POI internal format)files that are used with Garmin units.
Several of the posts above give excellent instructions on how to take a file of POIs and convert them to other formats. Since you have not yet indicated to us what yiou are trying to do, I would like to know exactly what you are getting from Flying J. If your can read the files in any way, post a few lines of it to help those here help you.
