This happens occasionally. After entering a destination (Nuvi 780) and if I stop along the way I have to reenter the destination. It seems to happen when I stop shortly after entering the destination. Any suggestions?

Use 'Last Found'
Try Where To, Last Found. It should have a record of your most recently found addresses.
Yes but...

That is what I do. My question is why does it "disappear".

Do you use Detour?
Do you use Detour?
The only reason for time is so that everything doesn't happen at once.
Thats Weird!
Thats weird. I have never had that happen. Do you turn it off when you stop?
Nuvi 660. Irish Saying. A man loves his sweetheart the most, his wife the best, but his mother the longest.
Nope
I'm not using detour and it turns off when I shut the ignition. As I said, it only happens occasionally and only short time after I enter a destination.

Suggestion
The first thing I would do is a hard reset and see if that solves the problem. Here's the link for the procedure.

I wonder

I wonder what the results will be if you were to turn off the nuvi before the 12V socket drops its power to the nuvi. It might be worth a test for a while.

If your nuvi is connected on car power, and you turn off your engine and your power cut off, the nuvi ask you if you want to continue on battery power. If you don't reply it will automatically turnoff.
Update:
As I recall, when I turn on my nuvi 360 it will still have the current routing I have.

Similar happened to me a few times (Nuvi 1250T). My observation was that it happens when Nuvi is turned off (car turned off) and the final destination isn't far away. I've never tried to figure out how much is that "far away". The same situation, with car and GPS turned off, but with the final destination much further didn't cause the same behavior, and my Nuvi was still in routing mode after restarting.
Opposite

With me it's the opposite. It happens when I'm a short distance from the starting point.
