Snow Storm

For this storm, Tues night thru Wed, the DC area expects 8-14, but much more will fall in Philly & north to NY & N.J. The real problem will be the winds, which will cause even more power outages. Heck, I'm going to have to go to the high country in Colorado to have better weather!

Yes, after about 32 or so hours it was 42 degrees in the house.

I last read this thread Friday night before bed. Lost power during the night. Saturday got up early, and cleaned the first 10" or so off of the driveway here in MD just N.E. of DC. Cleared the remainder of 21" in total off on Sunday. When the sun was up Sunday & Monday it was warmer outside than inside! Managed to get out Monday thanks to a neighbor plowing the street, & bought a generator. Made that decision while seeing my breath in the bathroom . Took from Mon at about 6pm to today at about 9am to get the house back up to 68 degrees. Street got 'officially' plowed late today (Tuesday).. power came back on at about 6pm.

Just in time for the new round of flurries. But now I've got the generator & fuel (so it will be a dud for sure).

Sorry to hear about your water damage chimchim12. Been worried about that myself.

Well, I hope all you people back East are safe and warm. It would be great if they could keep your lights on for you during this coming storm. Nothing like keeping the lights on - isn't that a commercial for a motel - to make you feel safe.

After clearing 30 inches of snow on Sunday, my driveway already has 5 more inches of fresh snow falling right now! The forecast is for a total of 20 new inches of snow until tomorrow afternoon!!

What happened to the global warming?

They renamed it "Climate Change" so no matter the weather, they could blame we pesky humans for causing it with our opulent lifestyles.

Left the snow two winters ago, so happy about that. Here in south Texas it has been raining for two days. My pool is now my entire back yard.
The pool will be a mud pit when the water finally stops coming.

I feel for the people who are battling the snow. All things considered, I will take the mud pit.

Stand in your door and blow hard towards the north-west. Vancouver is forecasting 4 straight days of rain on top of all the new snow they just trucked in!

Finally, the snow is melting! Two windows need checking for leak before next Winter, but the rest of house took it pretty well.

We still have the snow on the ground from Dec. (MN) But it's getting in the high 30's the last couple of days and maybe 40 today.

Here in MD, it's finally gone this week. Three pine trees damaged in this worst winter in 100 years.
