i live in west canada. we have little snow. send it our way or we will have a very dry summer. still driving in farmer fields with only a two wheel drive.

I thought I heard some predictions of up to 3 inches in Chicago. Of course, that is just a guess. I think it might have been a quarter of an inch.
It IS getting colder as they predicted. I hope everyone stays safe.

Northern VA - expecting ~30" of snow - heard interstate is now closed - hope we don't lose power - can't take much more of this global warming . . .

At 1 AM in Chevy Chase MD, a total of 12.25 inches on the ground. Snowfall rates of about 1.75 in per hour. Power still holding up. Trees heavy with snow but none down yet in our neighborhood. Looks like over 2 feet for sure.

Rain and wind this weekend. Backyard is saturated and water is pooling everywhere. Can't sleep with the constant wind noise. OH well. maybe next weekent will be nice...

Its 8:30 AM and other than a few flakes swirling about, we have no snow yet.

Vancouver needs all the snow for Winter Olympics, wish they could come and haul it away from my driveway.

We're camped 50 miles west of Miami but will miss the Super Bowl. I guess that's sacrilege We also missed the storms in the NE

Digging out to the neighborhood road took about 4.5 hours yesterday. Just a little sore today!

Roads were reportedly bad yesterday, but some folks insisted upon going out getting in the way of the snow plows. Crews are still working on clearing today.

Flights into and out of BWI are almost all canceled today - travel agent/airline lines are jammed as you would expect.

Here in Williamsburg, we only got 5 1/2 inches at our house. 30 inches here would be a catastrophe, it's bad enough in D.C. Visit:

Nice fluffy snow here, but street is solid ice where cars have been.

We left the frozen north at the beginning of January and are now enjoying the sun in Naples Florida.

If they keep building homes down here I think Florida can accommodate the entire population of the USA. Come on down!!!

There are such varied forecasts. I hope that it isn't much snow or the sustained 50 mph winds some have hinted.

We have waited a long time to get a family vacation and spending it in the airport (with a 4 year old and 7 year old) isn't going to be fun for very long.

I hope that this storm is downgraded much like the one that hit us this past Saturday. We live in Long Beach and got little more than a snow cover.

Looks like the next storm Tuesday night is going to hit NYC this time. It is a beautiful thing right after a big snow.

The yard has not dried out in several weeks. This year instead of a drought we are receiving rain before the mud dries.

VA still in SOE from our continued storms. Argh - enough already...........

Too bad we couldn't ship some of this snow to Vancouver.... They are in a warm spell with no snow, real trouble when the Winter Olympics starts.

I feel your pain! Nothing like just digging out your car from one storm only to find out another big storm coming! Makes you just wanna throw your hands up (except your back hurts too much from shoveling to do it).

I feel for the people who still don't have power. I lost it for 24 hours and when the heat finally came back on the thermometer was reading 50 degrees in the house! After a few days it must be close to 40 degrees.

Woke up this morning to water leaks in my ceiling due to the ice damming.

I feel sorry for you folks. I lived in MD most of my life.

In late 2005, I retired and moved from Olney to the PacNW, and haven't looked back.

I can still use the traffic cams to see what's going on and it sucks.

Bring it on. I had 41 inches on my patio this past weekend. I am building a snow cave.

I'm glad someone likes snow. It's pretty to look at through a window from inside, but once you watch it for two minutes that's as far as my excitement goes. I'll gladly go to my grave (hopefully many decades from now) without ever seeing snow again. Give me blue skies, sunshine and warm or hot temperatures anyday.

It's been snowing in the midwest for centuries. Why they cancel school before the first flake even falls is a great testament to the liability lawyers.

Actually there is great snow for all the downhill events but the snowboard site, which is much closer to sea level, has some snow problems. One of the US best boarders was on the Today show this morning and was saying the site has slushy snow which is just perfect for her events.

Got 22 inches outside, went to food store at 6AM this morning so I don't lose my parking space I shoveled out on Sunday (live in a condo). Got food, booze, cat food and no problem with power so I guess I'm ready.

This is why I go to Florida in the winter (Thank God I retired)
I drove in snow for way too many years. I promised myself I would never drive in it again.
First year I went to Florida I took a picture of all the snow in front of my house in NY with me.
Every time my wife would ask why. I told herr that whenever I had the urge to back north, I would look at it and the urge would go away for another month.

We are planning a drive from Quebec to N.C. then west to Los Angeles, leaving on the 14th, I hope all this storm is passed by then.

Really don't want to drive in blizzard conditions.
