the mid atlantic and parts of the north east.

4 to 6 inches or more depending on the track. crying
For anyone who lives in the mid atlantic/north east drive safely or stay at home..

Go Colts

I am sending the snow we are having in Indy your way...

Go Colts

Snow Storm

One to two feet in the Washington DC area with higher amounts(up to 30 inches)in the western mountains.

Great stuff when combined with mountains. In their absence, got the cross country skis out.

Fred

Nothing yet in NW corner of Penna . . . .

but forecasted for 2-4" overnight (if you believe the Weather Channel) north of I-80.

I'm rooting for the Saints but actually expect the Colts to win. I'll keep my fingers crossed, though.

Chicago Got Just A Dusting

I thought I heard some predictions of up to 3 inches in Chicago. Of course, that is just a guess. I think it might have been a quarter of an inch.
It IS getting colder as they predicted. I hope everyone stays safe.

68+? - You're killing us

Northern VA - expecting ~30" of snow - heard interstate is now closed - hope we don't lose power - can't take much more of this global warming . . .

Snow Storm

At 1 AM in Chevy Chase MD, a total of 12.25 inches on the ground. Snowfall rates of about 1.75 in per hour. Power still holding up. Trees heavy with snow but none down yet in our neighborhood. Looks like over 2 feet for sure.

Fred

I have a gig on

I have a gig on Saturday....the snow may put the kibash on the event....taking $$$ out of my pocket....so to speak!

Snow, Roads, Flights

Digging out to the neighborhood road took about 4.5 hours yesterday. Just a little sore today!

Roads were reportedly bad yesterday, but some folks insisted upon going out getting in the way of the snow plows. Crews are still working on clearing today.

Flights into and out of BWI are almost all canceled today - travel agent/airline lines are jammed as you would expect.

Almost missed us

Here in Williamsburg, we only got 5 1/2 inches at our house. 30 inches here would be a catastrophe, it's bad enough in D.C. Visit:
www.trafficland.com for current traffic cam video.

Nice fluffy snow here, but street is solid ice where cars have been.

Not going to venture out until it warms up a bit.

Good reason to **Retire**

We left the frozen north at the beginning of January and are now enjoying the sun in Naples Florida.

If they keep building homes down here I think Florida can accommodate the entire population of the USA. Come on down!!!

Canada Stereotype

Well! So much for the stereotype that Canada is the Land of Ice & Snow.

Washington DC almost got more in one dump than my part of Canada, near Toronto has gotten all winter, this year.

Snow in Chicago on Tuesday

Not as bad as DC but Chiago is expecting 6-10 inches this coming Tuesday. It's all part of Winter in the Midwest.

And we are flying out of La Guardia in NYC that day!

At least I hope that we will!

There are such varied forecasts. I hope that it isn't much snow or the sustained 50 mph winds some have hinted.

We have waited a long time to get a family vacation and spending it in the airport (with a 4 year old and 7 year old) isn't going to be fun for very long.

I hope that this storm is downgraded much like the one that hit us this past Saturday. We live in Long Beach and got little more than a snow cover.

New storm for DC area

Looks like more snow for DC Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday evening. Doesn't look pretty.

* ACCUMULATIONS...POTENTIAL FOR 8 OR MORE INCHES OF SNOW. THERE IS
A GOOD LIKELIHOOD OF SNOW IN EXCESS OF 10 INCHES.

Snow for NYC

Looks like the next storm Tuesday night is going to hit NYC this time. It is a beautiful thing right after a big snow.

Just Rain Here In Atlanta

The yard has not dried out in several weeks. This year instead of a drought we are receiving rain before the mud dries.

State of Emergency

VA still in SOE from our continued storms. Argh - enough already...........

Snow again here too... But not in Vancouver where they need it

Too bad we couldn't ship some of this snow to Vancouver.... They are in a warm spell with no snow, real trouble when the Winter Olympics starts.

Larry

15+ more inches of snow

15+ more inches of snow coming to MD.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooo

Fellow Marylander here Frankoq2

I feel your pain! Nothing like just digging out your car from one storm only to find out another big storm coming! Makes you just wanna throw your hands up (except your back hurts too much from shoveling to do it).

This stinks

I feel for the people who still don't have power. I lost it for 24 hours and when the heat finally came back on the thermometer was reading 50 degrees in the house! After a few days it must be close to 40 degrees.

Woke up this morning to water leaks in my ceiling due to the ice damming.

MD

I feel sorry for you folks. I lived in MD most of my life.

In late 2005, I retired and moved from Olney to the PacNW, and haven't looked back.

I can still use the traffic cams to see what's going on and it sucks.

Be safe out there, it's gonna be crazy.

14+

We are slated to get 10-14+ here in southeastern Wi

What a bunch of SUCK! I am really tired of snow, at least i am off of work today.

--
Finding New Places 1 day at a time

The big one

completely missed us. We are expecting 6-10 inches over the next 24 hours.

Snow Storm

Bring it on. I had 41 inches on my patio this past weekend. I am building a snow cave.

I'm glad someone likes snow.

I'm glad someone likes snow. It's pretty to look at through a window from inside, but once you watch it for two minutes that's as far as my excitement goes. I'll gladly go to my grave (hopefully many decades from now) without ever seeing snow again. Give me blue skies, sunshine and warm or hot temperatures anyday.

Here comes Round

Here comes Round Two.
Remember, they call those vehicles 4-wheel DRIVE, not 4-wheel STOP.
It's been snowing in the midwest for centuries. Why they cancel school before the first flake even falls is a great testament to the liability lawyers.

Drive safely, take your time, and leave plenty of room for those who don't.

No problem for the Olympics

Larry

Actually there is great snow for all the downhill events but the snowboard site, which is much closer to sea level, has some snow problems. One of the US best boarders was on the Today show this morning and was saying the site has slushy snow which is just perfect for her events.

This is why I go to Florida

This is why I go to Florida in the winter (Thank God I retired)
I drove in snow for way too many years. I promised myself I would never drive in it again.
First year I went to Florida I took a picture of all the snow in front of my house in NY with me.
Every time my wife would ask why. I told herr that whenever I had the urge to back north, I would look at it and the urge would go away for another month.

Now I'm Scared...

We are planning a drive from Quebec to N.C. then west to Los Angeles, leaving on the 14th, I hope all this storm is passed by then.

Really don't want to drive in blizzard conditions.
