Thanks Charlie, I tried

Thanks Charlie, I tried sending my location from Google/Garmin to the Nuvi directly and to the SD card( separately ) , unplug it from the PC and answer No to the question about finding new data because that's why I put a SD card in it. Nothing was to be found in Favorites. I now just plug in the address manually from Google and do it that way for now.

I guess I've never had a

I guess I've never had a problem downloading from Google into my 265wt. But I have noticed that Google's locations don't pan out very well. Its led me 1-2 miles off the correct location at least 4 times now... >:-(

You can also use Mapquest

You can also use Mapquest and Bing maps to do the same thing.Mapquest for users who has the route feature .

I am trying to understand exactly what steps you took to do a download. Google says:

"This service allows you to search for a business address and transfer it from the Google Maps website to your Garmin device. You can do this by clicking the Send to GPS button, which transfers the address from Google Maps to your Garmin device via its USB connection. The point will be saved as one of your favorites, and you can navigate to it or view it on a map just like with any other favorite.

Using your Garmin with Google Maps
What you'll need:

•A Garmin Personal Navigation Device such as a nüvi or a Street Pilot
•A personal computer running Windows XP, 2000 or MacOS X V10.4 or higher
•A USB cable to connect your Garmin device to your computer
•One of the following browsers:
◦On a Windows PC
■Internet Explorer version 6.0+
■Firefox 1.5+
◦On a Mac
■Firefox 2.0+
■Safari 2.0+
•The Garmin Communicator plugin, which lets your browser talk to your Garmin device.
How to use the service:

1.Click Find businesses in Google Maps and type your information in the 'What' and 'Where' fields (for example, 'pizza' in 'Olathe, KS').
2.Once you find a business, click the Send link in the bar at the top-right corner of the page.
3.Click the GPS tab in the Send window.
4.Click Ctrl TBD to select 'Garmin Device.'
5.From the 'Include' drop-down menu, select the address you want to send and press the Send button.
Note: Make sure your Garmin device is connected to your computer in order to receive the new address.

Troubleshooting
Common error messages:

•'No Garmin GPS devices were found. Please connect your device to your computer and scan again.'
◦Your Garmin device isn't connected to the USB port of your computer. Connect your device and press the Scan Again button.
•'This website uses the Garmin Communicator Plugin, which has not been installed in your browser. Click here to download the plugin.'
◦Follow the link in the error message to install the Garmin Communicator plugin. You may have to return to Google Maps and repeat steps 1-5 above.

Assuming you have the Garmin Communication plugin, how did what you did differ from the Google instructions?

Thank you for the walk

Thank you for the walk through, if it takes a couple of days to digest all my this and reply back I'll understand because I'm going to walk you through my almost every move. All your moves are the moves I've made in the past. Lets say I went to Google Maps and entered "Phoenix Zoo" I've made it all the way to the point of getting the address to the Garmin Communicator plug in screen which I've downloaded already. The Garmin Communicator plug-in has done its scan and recognizes both the nuvi and SD card,(which would you choose?)I've clicked both at different times with the same results "nothing" anyway...I clicked off the box "Removable Disk (L:\)" and hit the blue "Send to GPS" button, I received back this message from the Garmin Communicator plug-in "Your locations have been sent." (Should I be good to go?, Now at this point what do you do?, I remove the USB cord from the back of the Nuvi and wait for the screen to boot up. The very first message from the Nuvi is "New Extras data found on card. Would you like to install this data so that it will be available if this card is removed? I've always answered "no" I don't want the data from the SD card downloaded to the memory of the nuvi. After that the Blue "Agree" not to drive and work the Nuvi at the same time Button appears. I go to "Where" to ,hit the Favorites icon. My Favorite contain the following "All Favorites, Address Book, Auto Services, Coordinates, Food, Panoramio Photos and Shopping" Where would you look? I choose "All Favorites" nothing there, I also have checked all the other folders with no Phoenix Zoo to be found. Wheew I need a beer, and "No" I don't Nuvi and throw back beers at the same time, See you, soon....

Loading favorite to sd card

Loading favorite to sd card is not going to show on gps.

Why don't you use MapQuest http://www.mapquest.com/ .You may find it more accurate. Here is how it works.

1.Put in business name or address info.
2.Select get map.
3.If you get several selections click on correct one.
4.Go top left of page and select send on down window select gps.

Again favorite will not work on sd card it has to send to unit.

I've been loading directions

I've been loading directions manually to the SD card fine and have always had "Favorites" pick up the new address or endpoint, its only when I use the the goggle feature of downloading that nothing appears to be on either the hard drive of the nuvi or the SD card. What do you suggest I do differently?

I have the exact same unit

I have the exact same unit you have and it holds 1000 favorites. You have to send it directly to the gps unit. When you select send then gps make sure check mark in for 265.I have done this many times with Google Maps,Mapquest and Bing with no problems.

Edit. Here is a post on this subject about favorites on sd card. http://www.poi-factory.com/node/25066

I have always been able to

I have always been able to save POIs to my Garmin using my Mac with OSX. Now I am unable to do so. I read on various Mac forums that this is a problem now. I will try from my PC or my Linux machine to verify that this is a Mac related problem.

Thanks for the tip. It works great. I only had to agree to let MapQ have access to my unit. It pulled up the ID number.
