Thanks dave817 for

updating the Harley Davidson Dealers POI. Hate to see 19 deleted with only 1 added sad Would be even worse if we were trying to get to one of the 19 deleted when riding.

Culling the Herd.

In March 2009, there were 962 POIs in this file. There are now 912 POIs. That's probably around $500M in lost investment, though some is absorbed into other locations or resold.
Sad.
Sorry there were 19 in the deleted list. I thought I'd kept the H-D POIs up to date on this site, but I rode RT-66 for most of September, so Aug-Oct was somewhat neglected.

Did you

get down to AZ on RT66? We had lunch at the Roadkill Café in Seligman, AZ. Gives us the urge to ride as much of RT66 as we can.

Yes, it's sad to see businesses go under, but it's a sign of the times sad Thanks again for your work keeping this POI up to date.

India?!

I was reading the other day that HD will be making some of the scoots in India now. The American icon has been outsourced...

What a shame.

HD in India

What a shame.

The news piece I saw indicated that HD parts from the US were being shipped to India for assembly and sale there. The HD rep said that none of the bikes produced in India would be shipped back to the States.

It did not sound like work had been outsourced - instead it sounded like they had developed a market for US parts.
