That is a really cool unit

That is a really cool unit because it has Bluetooth and an FM transmitter. I would think you could connect your phone and play music through the GPS to your car?

check out the map version on

check out the map version on it. I bought one from walmart a while back and it had older map version on it. Looked like they got a deal on them and were selling them cheap. Still a good deal, don't get me wrong, but if you can buy a more updated unit, which I have seen at costco, with a better warrenty, for a few bucks more. Might want to be something else to consider

Too Late Now Anyway.....

The map version really doesn't matter because Garmin will give you the latest version FREE during the first 30 or 60 days after purchase.

I recall some people who were very upset when they bought close-out discontinued models during Black Friday or other Christmas deals. They did not get free map updates. http://www.poi-factory.com/node/8678

I would not take the free 30/60 day map upgrade for granted without checking to see if the particular model qualifies.

Numaps

I agree it is always smart to check, but I think the post you referenced in 2007 predates Garmin's announcement of nuMaps guarantee on new and refurb units.
