Garmin Nuvi 765T - Changing Speed alert to silent file

Hi All, I'm new to this forum and I am hoping that somebody has already found an answer to my problem. I need to keep the speed camera proximity alerts that are loaded as default but they are driving me mad. I understand that if we turn the sound down on the mixer that this would affect all volume including the volume for directions. As this would not be a solution, I was wondering if I could allocate a new sound alert file to play each time an speed alert sounded instead of the anoying pinging that is loaded as default. This could either be a quiet or just a silent file. Has anybody ever tried to do this before?

If anybody knows if there is another way except to disable the proximity alerts, I would love to hear from you.

many thanks

There are a couple of silent alert files

You can download and install one of the silent alert files from this site and name them exactly the same as the camera files with the exception of the extension. For the 765 you use the MP3 version. When you load the updated camera files using POI Loader, it will also load the alert file and use it in lieu of the Bong-Bong alert built into the unit.
