What a week!!!

We have really been busy this week. Hopefully the trend will continue. Summer has passed too fast. We have not even had time to vacation. Hopefully we can have a trip somewhere like Florida, the Deep South, or Wyoming before the end of September.

Mammogram is an important

Mammogram is an important tool for the early detection of breast cancer, and it's something every woman should do. As a woman, we should give importance to our health and this is one way of securing and protecting ourselves from any types of diseases.

Out of work

Best wishes. I have been there. When I finally found work it was earning a fraction of what I use to earn. Best of luck, hope you find something soon, it is not fun.

Have a Great Week!

Yes summer is almost over and we haven't had any as of yet. It's been cool and we have had so much rain and hale this year. It won't be long and the snow will be on the ground.

The 465 is on the street. Seems to be missing some features you would expect though.

Georgia Lottery

Drove to Georgia last Saturday and bought lottery tickets. The jackpot is over $170,000,000. Winning would be about the only way I'll ever be able to retire. Oh well...

I have found that "winning the lottery" is not a sound retirement investment strategy. mrgreen At least, it hasn't worked for me so far.

Actually "winning the lottery" is a very sound strategy. It's playing and NOT winning that's the problem.

Rain is coming...

We have a major storm coming at us in the Chicagoland area from the west. No need to water tonight!

Hope everyone has a great week.

Been on vacation for the last month. Will try to contribute.

Rain

We'll take some of the water from your storm.

Second year of drought here in Sacramento. I'll be glad when we get a "normal" amount of annual rain. This dryness doesn't help with the forest fires either. 11 at one time - Give us a break - Please!!

Oh well, you play the cards you're dealt. I hope all have a good week and great coming week-end. Do something fun with your family.

Longer Staycation

I found out that a "job" that I was offered just went the way of the dodo bird. sad I wish that employers would be more upfront instead of "pushing back" start dates. sad

One door closes and hopefully another one will open up soon! grin

In Washington

Well after 9 hours of driving yesterday we have arrived at our final vacation spot. We are in Olympia Washington visiting my dad and mom and sisters.

I have a high school reunion to go to tonight and then we are heading home in the morning.

I am pretty backed up with emails right now, they will all be answered Sunday.

I don't get to see my dad very often so I am taking this time off to enjoy.

I can't wait to see my high school buddies.

Have a nice weekend everyone.

Today is the long drive

Today is the long drive home. I should get in around 6:00 tonight. I am excited about sleeping in my own bed for the first time in 2 weeks. I am even more excited about having my office to work in.

I am going to kiss my second computer monitor. I have missed it so much. It is very hard to work with only one screen when you have been spoiled with having two.

It will be good to be home. I had a blast at my reunion, I think that most of the guys stay the same and it is us girls that make the biggest changes over the years.

Safe Drive MaryAnn

Keep an eye out for those Rest Areas for the kids !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Would love to be

I would love to be up at Peggy's Cove in Nova Scotia right this minute I bet it's beautiful, and exciting, with Hurricane Bill's heavy surf pounding over the rocks.

Visited there in 2000 and that thought crossed my mind. BTW - we got off Nova Scotia on the last ferry that ran prior to Hurricane Floyd there hitting that year.

Whoops

Just looked at old video file - it was 1999 that we visited Peggy's Cove.

Got in a pod of Right Whales while on a Whale Watching cruise right off Nova Scotia. Estimated there were 28-30 whlaes in that pod. Great video's & pics.

By any chance did you do the Bay Of Fundy? We were traveling by car. Seeing all the boats setting on a dry sea bottom was something else.

Yes

Yep - my Mother was born in Digby, NS so we did a lot of visiting on the Bay of Fundy side of Nova Scotia. Went to the Water Power plant at Annapolis Royal that gets power generated by both flow of the tides of Fundy.

You're right - looking at all the boats sitting high & dry on the bottom and then floating on 15-20 feet of water is impressive.
