Increase in Spam...

Seems like a lot of Spam type posts in the last few days. Anyone else notice? Just curious...

Not the Same?

We used to have SPAM at home when I was a kid. I liked it. Bought some recently on a nostalgic whim. It didn't taste as good as I remembered from 50 years ago. Have they changed the ingredients--or have my taste buds changed (for the better)??

Do you remember everything that was bad that happened to you 50 years ago?

It's a Hormel acroynm for special ham. It is good meat just a lot of perservatives to keep the shelf life high.

MMM good!

Ingredients:

* Chopped pork shoulder meat with ham meat added.
* Salt (for binding, flavour, and firmness)
* Water (to help in mixing)
* Sugar (for flavour)
* Sodium Nitrite (for colour and as a preservative)

Between the Salt, the Nitrites (also salt), it can't be real good for you! However it don't spoil! So that makes it a military favorite.

According to the Hormel website Spam is the acronym for "Shoulder of Pork & Ham" (Hormel canned pork developed in 1937) SPAM.

Actually don't remember a single bad thing. Consequence of selective memory skills.
