Nuvi 265WT lost sound

I just bought a refurbished Nuvi 265wt. After software was updated to latest, there is no more sound. I checked the volume and it was set 80%. Even I changed to 100%, still no sound. Mute was not checked. Anyone had similar problem before?

Check voice

Make sure your voice is set.
Not sure where located on a 265. I'm sure someone on this site will know.

My voice is under tools, system.

On the 265 touch

On the 265 touch tools, settings and language. That will bring up the screen for your voice selection. You can download a owners manual at http://www8.garmin.com/manuals/2675_OwnersManual.pdf .They just come with a start up manual.

This is a commonly reported glitch in Garmin's update process -- the process frequently unchecks the voice or switches from the TTS voice to a non-TTS.

Nuvi 660 -- and not upgrading it or maps until Garmin fixes long-standing bugs/problems, and get maps to where they are much more current, AND corrected on a more timely basis when advised of mistakes.

The sound on my 265wt

The sound on my 265wt sometimes goes off for no apparent reason also. It happened before and after my upgrade to 5.30.

I found that if I turn off and unplugged my unit from the adapter, sound returned when I restarted the system (If the unit is still plugged in, the off button seems to cause the GPS to go into a "sleep" mode.

Same Problem

after upgrading the software, my nuvi 265WT also lost sound.
2 weeks ago I wrote to Garmin support, but have not received replies yet ...

I tried to check some basic solutions like that is not mute set, change the voice language, update the latest software, and finally, perform a master reset

unfortunately none of these has worked.

If any of you have found a solution please let me know

Nuvi 265WT Also Lost Sound

I just updated the software per the directions at the Garmin site, and now, no sound. A Garmin Tech e mailed me and told me to do another update, and then a reset, still no sound. This thing worked great until the update, what's up with Garmin?

I returned mine

Mine returned to Garmin.

I have the exact same issue.

I have the exact same issue. I noticed it started happening when I created a new language with voice studio. I can do several voices so I recorded a Yoda theme that speaks. I can share that with anyone, but once I selected that one I noticed my sound cuts out completely. I don't even get beeps.

What I did to fix it temporarily is unplug the FM receiver and turn off the unit. Then I turned it back on and selected American English as a language. I'm wondering if the custom language I recorded is doing it.

Nuvi 265WT lost sound

That sound problem after an update of the Nuvi265 firmware is not repairable, the unit must be exchange.

When I updated my Nuvi265, I also lost the sound. When I called Garmin, they told that it does happen on some Nuvi265 (not all of them)and that I had to send it back for exchange. They returned another one and it took about 3 weeks.

Garmin

Same Old!!!! They cannot issue an update or a new product without it being a disaster....just don't understand it...My in dash Lexus GPS is 31/2 years old and has never had an update and works beautifully. I did update the map for $50....

This is a problem with this

This is a problem with this model. It seems each has it's own quirks. I have a new 265T and it loses sound. It has to do with the FM transmitter when it's plugged into the unit.

At least I figured out how to add custom sounds to the POI's.
