POI icon/Can you display actual POI name on driving screen??

Newbie here, but I had a question I can't seem to find the answer to. I have a Tom-Tom XL 330S. I enjoy having the icons come up as I drive and have no problem seeing POIs or programming which ones I want. The brand name ones like McDonalds, Wal-Mart or Subway are fine because I can actually see the icon representing those stores.

However, for the non-brand name restaurants like "Willy D's Catfish Restaurant" all I get is the box with the fork and knife in it. I know that you can touch the screen, push a bunch of buttons and eventually bring up the POIs "near you" which will have its name and miles from you.

But, is there any way to show the name while actually in the driving map? For example, you are driving along and off in the distance you see the fork/knife icon. As you get closer can it expand to show the name "Willy D's Catfish Restaurant?" Is this even possible? The GPS has no problems showing the street names, so I was hoping that POI names would also show up (I know it would clutter the screen, but would be cool and easier than pushing a bunch of buttons).

Thanks in advance!

Hi and welcome

While I know of what POI's you're talking about I've never used them myself. Sorry I don't have an answer to that one. You can look here www.tomtomforums.com if you'd like to learn more about your Tom Tom. smile

POI Info

You can't show the name on the driving map. When you tap on the screen, you get the Main Menu. You can go Main Menu, Browse map & tap the icon for info.
