3D Building View Feature Missing from New Line of Nuvi 1200 & 1300 Series

Any thoughts/knowledge about this? I have a Nuvi 755T and my guess is that Garmin isn't going to improve on this map feature in future map updates.

It would probably be better,

It would probably be better, instead of getting opinions, to go to http://www.garmin.com and look at the specs on the different GPS models you are interested in.

All of the features will be listed on the product page for each unit.

I realize that all the

I realize that all the features are listed on their site. I'm simply wondering if anyone knows why they didn't opt for the 3-D building view in any of their new line of GPS units.

.

Garmin needs to reserve some nifty features for it's "high-end" units. I don't believe the 1xxx series is considered high-end since it's price range starts at the same ~$200 level that all of Garmin's other low-end units started at when they were first introduced (nuvi 2x0, nuvi 2x5).

Personally, I find the 3D Buildings feature kind of pointless as I can already see the buildings in real-life in real-time (along with all of whatever else is being displayed in my brain's own real-time display mode). Why do I need the GPS to redundantly show me those same buildings? Admittedly, it may however be more useful in 3D display mode but I personally use 2D track-up.

3D Buildings

I don’t find the 3D option useful as well. I think it’s just an extra feature they use to raise the price tag.

I agree, I think it is just as useless as EcoRoute.

3d is a nice gimmick ... a useless, nice gimmick ... don't give it a second thought if it is not a feature on your unit.

I disagree that the 3d feature is a "nice" gimmick. It actually makes the units perform worse due to the increased demand on the processor.

I too think that 3D

I too think that 3D buildings are not gimmick. In fact, in couple of years all GPS devices will have photo-realistic maps a la Google Streetview.
