Someone should get fired.
We all know that this technology is solely for revenue - and all they could get was less than $15K fotr the year?
Winnipegonians sure do respect the law.
Come on, you should know better than that!
As I was born and raised (and got a few speeding tickets) in the 'Peg I don't see why the police need to play with the numbers. They just have to set up shop on North Main or Portage West to increase the revenue.
to create a law solely for revenue is immoral
I think that's 15 Million per year.
More importantly, the politicians should be held accountable for DECREASING safety!
P.S. Sent the article to the Governor of Maryland & the Montgomery County Executive. Hope they enjoy it!
I live in Montgomery County - let us know if you get a response. Thanks.
There should be a major public outcry about this dishonest activity. These policemen need to be indicted for fraud, fired from their jobs, stripped of their pension, and sent to jail. The fact that these policemen are not reporting the truth and skewing the reports to the city's advantage is a direct correlation to their honesty and integrity. If they will write an untrue report on the red light cameras, what type of report might they write on you?
I can't believe this thing is still going on. It's totally for revenue and totally obvious.
Here's the latest news from WiseUp Winnipeg:
I can say definitively - NO RESPONSE!
FZbar - I hope you weren't really expecting a response.
Here in the People's Republic of Maryland, ALL politicians are smarter than hoi polloi (just ask them) and will enact countless legislation to help us who are too stupid (in their humble opinions) to run our lives ourselves.
If there were some way for them to tax you for sending them the article, they would.
