Cross Country time zone change

I've done two trips cross country with my nuvi360 one to Florida, and one to Georgia both originating in Texas. The nuvi managed the route great but the arrival time is messed up because of the time changes going and coming back. I'm surprised its not smart enough to figure this out??

Time Zone Changes USA POI Submitted by drdevo does most of what people are looking for. (can't satisfy everyone).

At least it tells you when to change your watch and/or your GPSr.

It feels good to contribute something that others will get some benefit.

when GPS routing across time zones ...

... could an alternative solutons be to display the time remaining and decrement instead of listing the time to arrive based on your "origin time" or simply include the time zone in the time display (3:00AM CDT)?

As can be seen by this message thread there is confusion and opionions.

When using the GPS to route across time zones for the first time, there is confusion... 'it says that we'll arrive at 3am... but whos 3am? smile '

Until you realize that the time is based on your point of origin time zone... it is confusing.

Why not

Why not give the user the option of displaying the estimated time until arrival in the bottom left then instead of the ETA? It could count down the time as you travel. I would think this would be pretty trivial to incorporate into an update.

nuvi 2x5 Changes Zones

Just noticed that the 2x5 nuvis automatically adjust the time zone. Considering all of the discussion about the difficulties involved, I wonder how it is implemented.

Changes Zones

A while back I asked Garmin what models automaticall changed time zones, and they responded that 7X5 models automatically change to the proper time zone.

What I don't know is if they will reflect the correct time of arrival (as in local time).

It seems something the airlines thought was a good idea (arrival times in local time) has finally made it's way into GPSrs.

If you ain't got pictures, I wasn't there.

I don't go

over time zones very often being on the far west side of California, but it seems like a good idea for the ones that travel a lot across zones. Nice to know my 765T has the capability.
