Mobile Map Updating & MapSourse -- new Laptop

Anyone have practical suggestions for the following problem:

I've installed Gamin and MapSourse on my Home Desktop but would now like to have everything loaded on my Laptop which I can take with me on motorcycle trips throughout Canada and the US.

Any solutions other than:

a) uninstalling from the PC and installing to the Laptop (has anyone done this and is it fault proof?); or
b) buying another Garmin unit license?

Do other trippers use Google Maps, while on long trips, to create and import routes into their ZUMO 550 units?

You can load MapSource and the maps to another computer that you own without uninstalling them from the other computer.

You don't need to buy another license unless you want to load the maps to another GPS unit.

You have to use an intermediary source (such as TakeItWithMe) in order to use Google Maps routes with the GPS unit. You can't send them directly from Google Maps. And MapSource is a better alternative with the Zumo.
