Interesting Article GPS Satellite discussion

Although from the UK, I found this article rather interesting. I know some people out in Colorado Springs that keep these satellites aligned correctly, and will check the validity of the story.

We ARE taxed for these GPS Satellites

Anything the government does requires that we be taxed for it. By duplicating the effort, we are being taxed over and over and over... for virtually the same thing.

Sadly, you are absolutely correct. In a similar comparison, I live by a very nice county park with horse trails, but yet I have to pay for a trail pass to ride my horse on those same trails that I support through county property taxes!

So let me get this

So let me get this straight.
Your complaining about taxes being used to build satellites or there replacement, right?

But then I run across you in in a community of people that own GPSr's and download POI files for them. And by your presence that looks to me like you own a GPSr, and I would imagine turn it on and get data from one of those devices we are taxed for.

It's good tax money spent, better than doling out the millions to find out the best way to rid the land of Love bugs. And for that investment get the answer, just let them hit auto windshields (splat).

Maybe it's your horse

Chances are, if you walk in the park its free, I would imagine since it's a county park. Your horse is probably the one being taxed.
