Help POI's Moved.

I have a NOVI 760. I loaded some POI's and they were in the spot on the GPS map as they are on land. Now they are on the road. I can look at a POI and drive buy it on a interstate, or another street and the GPS will not tell me it is there.

What am I doing wrong.

If you are asking about not

If you are asking about not being alerted for custom poi you are passing?See http://www.poi-factory.com/node/6764

I have set it manually. I have had it set up to a mile and a half away. I can drive by a speedway gas station on my road and look at it on the main highway. It will not tell me it is there.

.

Is the location of the gas station POI within 50 feet of the road on which are are traveling?

You're

You're gonna have to be more specific. It sounds like a few possible problems that it could be.

IF you are travelling on the same road and the coordinates are not more then 50 ft off the road of travel you will be alerted. You can add TourGuide to the file name to get a radius alert that will increase the odds of being alerted. If you use express mode with poiloader you will get a 1/4 mile alert. You can use manual to increase the radius of the alert.Be aware using TourGuide in the file name may result in more alerts then you want.

I had it set at one time

I had it set at one time were I could pick up a resturant and gas station while driving down the interstate. I tried to get a longer notice.

The icons would show were the places were at. Now I can not pick up anything unless I am on the same road as them.

At one time I could hit the icon and it would tell me how to get there. Now all the icons are on the street. Not were the resturant is located. I can drive past a resturant with its parking lot next to the interstate fence. I have that resturante set at 5280 feet. It will not tell me it is there. Even though there is a exit ramp there.

I guess I should have left it alone when it worked the way I wanted instead of trying to improve it.

I found that for getting

I found that for getting alerts from the interstate using TourGuide in the file name and setting the alert radius for 1 mile works well. You have to type it just like I show it.TourGuide.

Edit.See http://www.poi-factory.com/node/13904 for lots of information.

One other thing - "speed"

One other thing - "speed" in the name of the file has a special meaning I believe when being loaded by the POI manager. I think "Speedway" will also. May be better not to use Speed in the name at all...

True

I ended up renaming my Speedway gas POI file to Speeedway.csv to avoid the problem. It just makes it look like I can't speel. smile

Good idea.

laugh out loud Good idea.

I want to thank everybody.
