I have a Garmin StreetPilot 2730 now, but I want to buy a Garmin Nuvi 500 to add to my GPS arsenal. I want to also get the lifetime maps. I have a couple of questions, though. Will I likely get CN 2009 maps with a Garmin Nuvi 500 since 2010 was just released? Can I call Garmin within 60 days and have them mail a DVD update, but then install that on the Garmin StreetPilot 2730? What I want to do is update the 2730 and then buy the life time map subscription for the Nuvi. Does anybody know if that is permissible?
Also, what is the best price anybody has seen lately on the Nuvi 500? With my Life Time Fitness membership discount I can get it through Dell for under $240 shipped to the house. I have seen some lower prices, but I don't think that they are from Garmin authorized dealers.
I'm planning to do same for my old 340
I just bought mine a few weeks ago and paid 240. Im curious to know about the map thing as well. It came with the lower 49 states city navigator NT 2009 plus topo. I don't know which topo though.
The nuMaps and the Lifetime Maps are ONLY available via download from the internet. In order to get a DVD, you would need to purchase it separately.
