Nuvi 260W - Cannot register it - sits there

Hi All

I just got this Nuvi 260W at Costco and I am trying to register it to download the 2009.1 update. The plugin is installed OK, but it just sits there and does nothing after entering my serial number. It does not find the NUVI. It is there because I can see it in my-computer as a drive letter.

anyone, the tech at GARMIN are dumb...count not help

Did you enter the serial number or the unit ID number? They are different.

The serial number should be on the back or bottom of the unit (small white strip with Numbers / Letters.

I found this thread by searching serial number (there are more).

I think there is an option on the right of the registration screen if you do not have your serial number.

Don't know if this will help. If you have a pop-up blocker running, try turning it off. I sometimes find it won't let programs work.
