New friction mount

Any experience with the new Garmin friction mount? It looks like an improvement on the old beanbag.

I should have red your comment yesterday. I just order three been bag for me and my friends and I just found the new model only 3$ higher...

Have I made a huge mistake or both are as equal?

Friction Mount

From the picture I saw I think the old one is a better mount. I use it in my jeep and like the way it will mould with the dash. The new one doesn't look like it will do that. so you may have done better by getting the older version.

I agree, looks to me like it can fit in an armrest or glove box with no problem. I also noticed from other pictures that it is a pliable device to fit contoured dashes. can some that gets one report on this please.

I am buying the new one this week. One that occurred to me is the prospect of it becoming a projectile in an accident. The bag's not heavy, but I thing my Nuvi is going to leave a knot on my head. Now that I think though, I bet those things I have clamped to the windshield won't stay put either.

Guess I need a helmet.
