doh!

to late!

Hmmm, how many men do you

Hmmm, how many men do you know who have had a mammogram? I didn’t know they gave them to males, well I am having one today. I wonder if my doctor is confused… (I have very long hair).. I hope he doesn’t send me to a gynecologist!! shock You never know, I live in an area fondly known as the Swish Alps… First a prostrate exam and now… Yuk!! rolleyes

I was told not to use any deodorant before the mammogram, so now I suppose I’m going to have to bathe twice this week.. wink

On top of that it’s raining again in Silver Lake, I thought it was global warming, not global wetting… rolleyes

Looks like the weather will be real nice this week in New Mexico.

Have a great week, and be careful out there.

You are lucky. I thought only woman is eligible to receive one.

I will be thinking about you.

I am going in for my very first mammogram on Thursday. I am excited about this milestone in my life. Some women wait until they turn 40 before getting their first exam. I like to stay on top of my health and will be turning 36 this year so my doctor was supportive when I asked to do the test now.

I will be thinking about you;)

JM turns 40 tomorrow;)

the test ... or the prostrate???

Yikes, too many medical exams!

What in the world? Is everyone on this forum falling apart? It sounds like a laundry list this morning of medical exams and procedures.

Ms. POI, at 36 you are just a young pup. I have pairs of socks that are 36 years old! Good idea on the mammogram. I lost a mother and two aunts to Breast Cancer so my sister has been getting examined from a young age. I have walk in the "Race for the Cure" too many times representing my loved ones and hope others do not have to follow my lead.

Good luck to all with the upcoming medical exams. I hope every result turns out fine.

Good Week to all.

Also, you are wise to get one..

But I was referring to the test... A little camera vs a stainless steel louiville slugger... and they knock you out... They checked both ends last time I went.. The mouth first I hope.. shock

Good For You, Miss POI

My thoughts are with you for a good result. Some folks seem reluctant to go for tests, fearing a bad result. But this is truly a case of what you don't know can hurt you.

Several years ago my father-in-law ended up with colon cancer and had to have about 16" of his colon removed. His doctor got in our faces to start having regular colonoscopies which both my wife and I did. So far, so good.

Good luck at the doctors and hope everything checks out ok! We need you on these forums for many more years.

Snow

210" of snow here this season and still a long ways to go. We usually shovel most of our small backyard for our little chihuahua to go out in, but there's no room to put any more in. She's going to be claustrophobic until Spring.

Thanks, and like they say..

It's starting to look more

It's starting to look more and more like one GIANT LAKE around these parts! I was surrounded by water on my way into work this morning. Kind of creepy driving in the dark with water on both sides of the road at the same level as the road. They say more rain for the rest of the week as well......OH JOY, maybe I should get that wetsuit out of the closet?

As one who's had my share of encounters with people in scrubs I can empathize. My experience now going on 3 years ago has left me with an aversion to TV shows like "House" - because once you've lived a medical drama you can't watch 'em on TV any more.

Mammos...

Well now I know what my wife goes through... It isn't that bad at least for a guy... I got a cute little bandade with a shiny BB on it... it gives a new meaning to caught in a wringer... wink It's better than having the prostrate checked... shock The doc said everything look O.K. grin

edit BTW taking the bandade off was the worst part...

Not a mammogram, but a similar experience

aophiuchus wrote:

I had a bone density scan done for possible osteoporosis a couple of years ago. When I tried to check in, I was shown to another door to the side. When I walked up, it said, "Mammogram and DEXA scan waiting area for the privacy of our female patients." redface

I'm due for another DEXA scan this summer. sad

Happy Day!

While my wife says that my eh hmmm - chest - is perky, I've not needed any tests normally reserved for women. (pssst - don't tell anyone, but I think she's just jealous.) surprised

Oh, the conversations you see... redface

And now, back to your regularly scheduled forum - already in progress . . .

This economy is killing me.

Things better start improving, I just hope it's soon.

All the best to everyone

I hope all of the tests go the way we want them to be. Then we can all continue to gather here and help each other follow our obsessions - I mean dreams. I'm not obsessing!

One week down

First full week with out glasses. ITs amazing. Spring Trainings first game is in a day, what more could i ask for. Maybe some warmer weather so i can dust off my sticks and play a round.

Medical tests

grin Many yrs ago I went for my 1st prostrat exam. Well I happen to be workinig that day and just took off an hr. for the test. Well I took my gun belt off and laid it on the bed and assumed the position. After waiting for quite some time I looked behind to see where the Dr. was and what the hold up was. He (the Dr.) was standng behind me and looking at my hand which I had placed on my revolver handle without thought. The Dr. said "if you'll move your hand we will procede"

Great Lakes

I heard on the radio that the level of the Great Lakes are up ten inches over last year.
Good news for the boaters and shippers.
