Not until Garmin gets more creative in their design.

I tripped going up the escalator and I fell for an hour and a half!

Neat

Those certainly would be some pretty cool features! If you look at other gadgets (like the iPhone and other comparable gizmos) a lot of them can do those things. My guess would be that the limits are something along the lines that a cell phone has access to 3G internet and our GPS units don't. I'm still waiting for the day when I can have my GPS, cell phone, personal computer, camera, music/video player, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera all in one! We're almost there! I still remember when it was a big deal to have a cell phone with more than a keypad to it, hehe.

Its possible....but difficult

This is possible by turning them into "TourGuides" so that there is extra information present, but it is not easy to do. And the information is static. The GPX file has to be updated to update the information.

I have done this with the Washington State Ferries (Schedule) POI. Since this information is updated quarterly maintenance of the file is not very difficult. See the file here:

I wrote a program in Mathematica (I can't program in any other language) that scrapes this information from the WSDOT website and writes out the required GPX file. Unfortunately, if this was done on large scale for distribution for most other things you would likely run into copyright issues. I feel that the information on WSDOT is public domain. After all, its our tax dollars.

All in One, and if you lose it? or it's stolen?

I think you will be very sorry when that day does appear. FYI there are GPS's that use Zagat:
