Map icons in 3d Mode

With a nuvi 255W is there any way to have POI icons display as you are driving in route mode?
I have used the Navigon 2100 Power max and magellan maestro 42590 and this feature is easily accomodated.
I have not figured out whether it is available in teh Garmin.
Factory Or Custom?
I don't know of any way to display icons for the factory built-in POIs while in 3D mode.
Icons that I've installed along with custom POI files from the POI-Factory do show up in 3D mode, under the right conditions. For example, I have the rest area combined file installed with the outhouse icon. As I drive the interstates, the little outhouse icon shows up on the display as I am approaching the rest area. But that is because MrKenFL built the file with the coordinates right along side the roadway (less than 50 ft).
Other custom POI files where the coordinates, say for a restaurant, that is set back more than 50 ft from the side of the road, will not display the icon as you drive by.
