The Land of Lincoln - Springfield, IL

I am going to be taking a weekend trip to Springfield, IL just to see some of the Lincoln museums, etc. I did not see any custom POIs for this area. Did i miss them in my search. I thought sure this tourist area would have some sites mapped out.

Thank you for pointing out this custom POI. The only problem with it is that it does not list the city and state, therefore, I don't know where these museums are.

This is the very reason I recommended creating standards for custom POI's several months ago. Everytime I have a real need for a custom POI I can't determine where they are.

There was a lot of talk about creating a standard, however, I wonder if anything has been done to begin this process other than everyone recommending their ideas.

I appreciate the custom POIs and I am not trying to criticize but I again can't use something I need.

I agree, I believe I read that miss poi was looking for

Someone to update that file... But find the coordinates for Springfield and see if any of the museums are near... Just a suggestion... Wanna volunteer to take over the file? rolleyes

Just set your location on the gps to Sprinffield and look for museums in the poi.... grin

I set my GPS to Springfield and that worked great. All the points of interest are in there including the phone numbers. Thanks again!

Funny you metion this, I was in the State of Illinois building yesterday and saw the display for Lincoln's Bicentennial.

And I thought, I should make a POI with Lincoln sites!!

I think I'll do it...

Quick!

Do it quick, in case his POI's aren't up to date! BPA, just make sure your maps are up to date in case they added things you might miss if you rely on old maps.
