updates for specific cities

I bought my 265wt just before Christmas and have (according to garmin) the latest maps but it doesnt show a major highway in Phoenix as being completed, which is causing me grief as I am new here. Is there anyway to get an update for a specific city/state?

.

No, unfortunately not.

You would have to get the full update when it is released.

In the meantime, see if

In the meantime, see if there's a very recent paper map of Phoenix that does show the highway as being completed and navigate according to that paper map. It's even possible the map revisor for Garmin doesn't even know there's a completed highway named such and such and thus you need to notify Garmin.

Maps Always Outdated

As you have discovered, the maps on GPS units are always outdated. Data is usually two years old, and you will occasionally find things that have not been corrected for five-six years.

Garmin will soon be offering quarterly map updates, which may alleviate some of the problem.

I can see being a bit lax in

I can see being a bit lax in not having residential subdivisions right up to date....but a major highway?? This is the 202 loop in Phoenix and from what I've been told has been open for quite some time. Oh well, I'll drop garmin a line, for whatever good it may do.

You'll

You'll run around this alot with new devices in general. Time, patients and individuals contacting the manufacture to let them know what's going on will only fix these types of occurences.

Good luck with that, they don't own the data in the first place.

Try this, they own the data:

free map updates

I just got the 265wt and it already has the NT Nav 2009 loaded. If you have the 2008 version contact garmin right away for the free upgrade to 2009 because they only give you 60 days. Then you have to buy the upgrade.
