Problems with the Colorado 400t

Does anyone have a problem with the Garmin 400t not being accurate? My Garmin is off about 50 meters and need to know if there is anything i can do to fix this.

.

Can you give more details? To what are you comparing it?

Recreational GPS units 1) typically have an accuracy of 20-30 feet and 2) typically can't be (and don't need to be) calibrated.

Are you seeing this with an address search? -- Addresses can be off in the database for any number of reasons.

Are you seeing this when entering coordinates? -- Be sure that you are using the correct coordinate FORMAT and be sure that the GPS unit is set to the same MAP DATUM as the source of the coordinates.

400t

Yes I have the right Datum. The Grid that i get on my GPS I plot it on a map and its not right. It's off every time. When I use another garmin the grid is accurate i don't know what to do. So frustrating...

Your description says, "The Grid that I get on my GPS I plot it." I'm lost as to exactly what that means. Do you mean that you are using the GPS in an off-road environment? If so, does the unit offer a setting for off-road? If you use an on-road navigation setting to determine the coordinates of off road locations, you can get erroneous info because it is trying to snap-to the nearest road.

Nuvi 660 -- and not upgrading it or maps until Garmin fixes long-standing bugs/problems, and get maps to where they are much more current, AND corrected on a more timely basis when advised of mistakes.
