Where has the week gone?

I go away with the kids for a couple of days and it's already Thursday?

I think a break at an indoor waterpark was great for the kids - lots of physical activity and getting them out and about.

Now, it's back from the 70's and 80's of the waterpark to the teens of reality! brrrrr...

Tropical Weather

Here in Northern Michigan we're getting warm temps in the mid to upper 20's today.

It won't last long as it's supposed to get cold by Saturday and back to windchills -30+ below.

I'm thinking of taking a little trip and visiting my parents in Florida before winter is over.

yep..warming up

32 degrees today. Getting out the bathing suit and sun tan lotion.

This w/end back into the single digits.

Lucky we have a wood stove!

Mercury in retrograde, or lowest bidder?

It seems the government officials should have a bit of leeway with how they accept bids on infrastructure contracts. But, then again, I live in Illinois. Our officials seem to take all the leeway in the world to pick the highest bidder (of sorts). We still have similar results.

Superbowl is coming up....

In honor of the big event coming up in Tampa Bay, FL I have promoted the Metro page to the front page of the site.

Huge thanks to everyone who has been a part of this project, especially Gary A and Flaco.

RAIN

Finally, some moisture from above. How long it will be here and how much we will get is anyones guess. Lets hope it keeps coming here. This 70* weather in January dont quite cut it. Dont get me wrong, its beautiful weather, but it sure can be hard on the crops and things, because cold weather still lies ahead.

If you dont know where you're going, any road will get you there!!

Starting to think about the garden

With weather once again warming into the 70's I'm getting anxious to begin the Spring garden.

Nice warm day, then back to the freezer.

After several days of low 20's and below, NYC went up to 42 today. Tomorrow we start to slide down again. sad

Gas Prices

I doubt gas prices will hit $5. I would guess $3.50 by Aug if things turn around with the econonmy. If not, likely stick to around $2.50

Better Make More Comments

Every week I update the POI I manage (Mom & Pop Burgers) but looking at my acct. I've lost active status. I read post all the time but very seldom have anything to add. I guess I better drop in here (Chit Chat Thread) weekly even to just say HI. What a great day to be a POI-Factory member.

.

The local news station here did a consumer report on the MagicJack the other day, basically said it was a piece of crap and interviewed a bunch of ticked off customers.

MagicJack

Anyone out there actually like it?

Magic Jack

I have heard that the device actually does what they say it does.

Hello to everyone for the newer week...

Hello to everyone for the newer week... Happy Monday!

MagicJack

I wouldn't get a MagicJack simply because you have to leave your computer on 24/7 to make or receive calls. I don't want to do that.

I have VOIP that I got from the cable co. for $15/mo for the first year. Had some problems at first, but lately it's been very good and reliable.
