Your GPS unit cannot recognize maps from MapQuest. In fact, I don't even think it's possible to download MAPS from MapQuest.

So, let's back up.

1. What exactly are you trying to do? Send ROUTES from MapQuest? Send POIs from MapQuest?

2. How did you get the data that you downloaded onto your GPS unit?

3. Which GPS unit?

Your c550 doesn't have the ability to store routes.

Yes, the 760 has the ability to route routes.

When you make the route in MapSource, use the "Send to Device" button to send it to the unit.

Then once the transfer is complete, disconnect the unit from the computer and allow it to start back up. Then go to the My Data section and IMPORT the route.

Alternately, if you for some reason want to put the route on the SD card, then in MapSource, use the Save As ... function to save it as a GPX file format.

Then copy this GPX file to the GPX folder on your SD card. Then when the unit starts back up, go to the My Data section and IMPORT it.

Note that the unit must be imported before the unit can use it, so unless you have a need to carry more than 10 routes, there's no advantage to putting the route on the SD card. It's much more simple to just use the "Send to Device" button in MapSource.

c550 or nuvi 550?

Is your 550 a StreetPilot or nuvi? I wouldn't know about the StreetPilot c550, but the nuvi 550 does do multi-point routes.
