New MSN Direct Update

Has anyone been able to download the new MSN Direct update? I received a message about it on my Nuvi this am and went to the website to obtain more info. It said to use the webupdater which I did and the update is not there, I am assuming it has not been released yet.

What model nuvi do you have? The new MSN Direct features are only supported on the newer nuvi models -- I'm out of luck with my 680, for example.

Someone supposedly got an email from Garmin tech support stating that it would be released this coming Monday the 19th. Take that (along with all release dates) with a grain of salt.

I updated my Nuvi 255 via Web Updater and no new information is appearing when I connect my MSN receiver. Maybe the update will be applied later as other posts indicate - or it could be area dependent?

Just checked, and no update available for my 780. Have been several of these ‘notices’ of updates recently. Wonder what’s going on?

When Garmin/MSN made the last set of enhancements on the 8x0 units they upgraded the 7x0 series also but not until the 8x0 was released. I would bet the same will happen with this update it will be available for the 7x5 shortly after the 8x5 series is released

If you all are talking about the new ver.3.... I read somewhere that it was announced a little prematurely and won't be available until Jan. 19th.

I also noticed the same update message when I had to re-activate my subscription and WebUpdater could not find it.
For some reason, even though I am in the coverage area (Chicago Metro) my MSNDirect quit updating my Nuvi 780. I still only get sparatic updates and am wondering if it's worth it (thank goodness for the 3 month trial).
Is anyone else having the same issues? I am hoping this "update" will help.
