stuttering voice fix for 4.60

connect your unit to webupdater and see. All voices have been upgraded from 1.20->1.40

But Karen's been v1.50 for quite some time now. (Jill has been 1.90, too.) As far as my voices go, only Lee and Daniel were recently 1.20.

I'm not sure why folks now have stuttering. Back in the nuvi 7x0 delayed/stuttering voices fiasco a while ago, it was only the older v1.20 voices that didn't have stuttering, while the 1.4, 1.5, and 1.9 voices had the problem.

Getting back to the original post, I just checked with webupdater and for my 750, no voices are changed--the only two v1.20 voices are still just 1.20. Is it possible that different nuvi series have different voice versions available?

I have a nuvi 780 and its been stuttering badly after the last upgrade, I hope this will cure the problem. Will up-grade and post later..

Back during the first nuvi 7x0 delayed speech and stutter issues, many found that the Lee and Daniel TTS voices (both still v1.20) worked well even when the newer Jill's voice, Karen's, etc. had delays and stutters. See what happens with Dan or Lee and let us know if this offers any temporary solution for you.

Another solution in the first Garmin voice delays issue was to choose a non-TTS voice, although that will eliminate Speech identification of street names, etc., and doesn't seem a good solution to me.

I have had no stuttering problem with my 760

I have had no stuttering problem with my 760 with firmware 4.60 and the latest Jack 1.40 TTS voice. I always run in 3D mode.
