"Just Have Fun" - How true

As we are new to all this GPS stuff, we initially found we were taking the machine (which after all, thats what it is, just a machine) far too literally. Then we started taking its directions with a pinch of salt and thinking "What the ...... ?"

In one of my first posts, I received a reply that said 3 words "Just have fun." How true those words are. We took that advice and now treat the GPS as something to play with. On our drives we often try to guage how long it will be before the GPS realises we are NOT on the access road, and we have actually taken a ramp (presumably a new one) and are on the highway already. Another is "Just where did that accident its reporting go?" Its now things like this that add to our enjoyment of "GPS-ing".

As we discover new ground in this area, it reminds us of the axiom - A machine is only as good as what is put into it; be it knowledge, hardware, software, or even faith, and sometimes hope. We have become very aware of just what and how we are asking the GPS to get us somewhere and how such instructions can be interpreted in such a 'different' way. smile

Thanks to Ismonop for such sage words of advice, and we Intrepid Pair hope y'all take them to heart, too.

Just have fun.
