Time zone change?

This was my first 'time zone' trip and I was a little surprised at my Nuvi 200. I went from Georgia to TN and expected the Nuvi to change the time back an hour, but it did not. Is this normal? Cell phones change, so why didn't the gps?

The GPSr's time displayed is a user controlled feature. Internally, they operate on UTC/GMT - and they get that from the satellite signal.

Cell phone's change because they are getting their time from a ground-based source (cell towers) that are programmed to relay the time based on the location of the tower.
