Route Simulation-Speedup?

If this has been discussed before, I'm sorry. I couldn't find a topic on it.

When you're actually having a Garmin simulate a route is there any way to speed it up? Trying to see what's going on during a long route is kinda tough when it's only simulating 35 mph or so.

Thanks for your help!

NO

If you have specific spots along the route (POIs?) that you want to check out, you can set you location close to the location and then start the route to take you past the location -- and then stop the route and repeat for the next location. Simulation is real time.

Real time simulation

The simulation of the route uses the average speed for the road types that are in the simulated route. It simulates in real time so you can not speed it up.

It was touched on once....probably off-topic in another thread.

Depending maybe on your exact model, it was suggested that you set your destination and then switch to "scroll" mode, where you can advance the route manually as fast as you want, more or less.

That trick works good on my Magellan too.

Wish there is one

But there is none. Sometimes, I don't even bother with it.

Huh?

Speedup

Thanks everyone.

I was hoping there was some way to speed it up but I guess not.

Moving the map by holding it with my finger while sliding doesn't seem to work especially well, but I guess it can be done.

I read a post i believe, saying you could speed up simulation on TomTom units.
