Chit Chat Thread for the week of August 18, 2008

This is the place to talk about things that are not gps related, you can discuss whatever you would like, as long as it is clean. Remember we have families that have their children involved in the GPS fun and we don't want to make parents feel uncomfortable when their children ask what that word means.

Have fun...

This thread will be closed on Monday and a new one will be opened.

Rain in California!

I wished it would rain too! Here in the Central Valley it's been terrible!

Back To School

As a Bus Driver I just want to remind you it is Back to School Week in most of the country. We start Monday. Remember some of these kids are walking to school for the first time. A Lot of Schools have limited their busing. And Yes please also watch for us BIG yellow buses we promise not to keep you too long as we stop. But remember our job is to keep those kids safe... grin

Hello All

Just wanted to say hi and I'm glad to be here smile

welcome

HHjr888,

Welcome to the group, it is nice to have you with us;)

Miss POI

School starts tomorrow!!!!

I may be a bit slow getting my Monday responsibilities up tomorrow morning.

Our youngest daughter has her first day of Kindergarten and I like to be there for a while to make sure she gets settled and feels safe.

We will be super focused on the site now that school is back in, and we will have time to dedicate to the programing that needs to happen to make this already great site even better.

This has been a great summer with our kids and now it is time to hunker down and go back into construction mode.

Hold on tight people, it might get a bit messy before we get all the dust settled.

Lancaster, PA

Hi everyone,

While in the "Lancaster" area, don't miss the "Shady Maple Smorgasbord". It's located between US 322 & PA 23 on PA 897. It's near East Earl, PA and Blue Ball, PA. The prices are very reasonable, and you'll love the food. A breakfast is also served. They're open Monday-Saturday.

No, I don't work there, or own stock, but it's one place I never miss when in the area.

Just don't watch the Networks or news channels at all - stick to any show on DIY Network with a host named Amy, Food Network....and of course baseball & NFL preseason.

And they're tying up the Denver traffic, too. The I-25 near the convention is being shut down for several hours Thursday night for the sole benefit of their "presumptive" nominee. sad

Crazy crazy

That path looks crazy....maybe Fay wanted to do some sight seeing over Florida...lol...Maybe shes thinking of retiring there. But yea...moving soooo slow there's going to be alot of flooding, and half of Florida is swamp and marshes already.

And I have a friend in Panama City who is not to be found....she lives in assisted living and they evacuate them first, she said. I have not been able to reach anyone in PC who I know. If she were not undergoing cancer treatment right now, I would not be so concerned. Maybe tomorrow they'll be back home????

All this rain.. My neighbors in Mobile say we are getting rain but it is not flooding. Losing one house is enough. I keep waiting for this predicted turn north. Put some rain where it is needed.
