Mounts

Looking for recommendations for GPS Mounts - I have heard the suction cups fall off in hot weather and leave a tell-tale circle on your window for thieves. Any recommendations for alternatives?

Went with this system for my Nuvi 660 and my Sirius Sportster 4. Very sturdy and customizable to your vehicle. It can be a little pricey though depending on what you want.

mounts

I've tried several mounts. None can compare to Garmin's bean bag mount. This topic has been covered numerous times. I believe the bean bag is the favorite of the majority of the responses. It leaves no teletale ring on the windshield, stays in place, allows select positioning and can simply be placed under the front seat when making a stop.

"Beanbag" friction mount

I agree. My "beanbag" friction mount (https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?pID=8100) is simply the best. It is portable, leaves no marks behind, and stays put. I stow it in the glovebox or center console when I get out of the car, and thieves are none the wiser that I have a GPSr. You can buy them for less than $30 US, shipped, from many online retailers.

Mounts

I'm new to this site but I use the pro fit mount. It looks professional and mounts on the front side of the dashboard. They also have alot of pictures on their website to give you an idea of what it would look like. Http://www.pro-fit-intl.com/.

Re: Mounts.

I vote too for the ProClip device holders, but I don't like how for some cars their clips mount only to the A/C vents.

To achieve a cleaner look, IMO, other products that can be used come from:

http://www.pro-fit-intl.com/
http://www.panavise.com/

They include vehicle-specific, custom brackets for fixed hard points, that can be used with ProClip holders, and also offer non-drill installation.

Mounts available on-line

Try www.semsons.com for very good prices for mounts and mount parts. I bought parts to make my own designed custom mounts for my vehicles. Fast shipping and good customer service so far.

Hope this helps. Ernie.

Mounts On-Line

You might also try mountguys.com. I bought a really good vent mount from them for less than $10. They have a wide selection of GPS mounts and cellphone mounts and give really fast service.

Friction mount for me

I use the Garmin friction mount (not beanbag) and I have never had it slide off the dash in either of my vehicles. I've had it for over a year and it works great. I especially like the integrated power supply that comes with the mount. And it's one of the least expensive mounting options you can get.
