Chit Chat Thread for the week of August 04, 2008

This is the place to talk about things that are not gps related, you can discuss whatever you would like, as long as it is clean. Remember we have families that have their children involved in the GPS fun and we don't want to make parents feel uncomfortable when their children ask what that word means.

Have fun...

This thread will be closed on Monday and a new one will be opened.

Retire, not retire, retire, not retire. PICK ONE!!!!

If you're even thinking of coming back, then you're NOT retiring, but taking a vacation. And to be truly retired, you should have to be GONE for one FULL SEASON. No talks with the league, owners, teams, no showing up to training, practice, scrims, meetings, or taking ANYTHING from them.

I agree, at this point the NFL, should make make him play with the Packers. If he completely dodges training camp make him sit out One whole season so he don't get hurt. And also completes his contract.

Rays in first

They sure got even with the my Indians last night. Considering the amount of money Boston and New York can pay their teams, I could even route for the Rays at the very end.

Selective hearing...huh?

Gee, my kids are certainly stricken with that. Whisper to your spouse about going to the playground and the kids can hear it through walls. Ask them to get dressed, ready for bed, finish breakfast else they will miss the bus....huh?

Then there are the times that I tell my daughter to do or not do something, yet at 5.5 years old she thinks she knows better. If she gets hurt or inconvenienced regardless of the warnings or advice I am still somehow to blame.

One day she asked me a question for which I did not have the answer. She told me that she though that I knew everything. I asked her if she thought I knew everything why she didn't listen to me when I told her to do certain things or not to do others.

She didn't know that answer!

Have a safe day,

I keep a bottle of Absente (absinthe refined) 110 proof, in my liquor cabinet. It comes with the spoon to be used with when your pour the Absente over a sugar cube.
I might just have to give the real thing a try.

This is an SEP

!

The unanswered question from the mind of babes.

She needed to figure out the answer to that question, not me!

Two days ago she took a tiny stuffed animal to camp. I saw it last minute because she somehow let it get away from being hidden. I encouraged her to leave it home because it could get lost (like her canteen, two water bottles and bead bracelet ALL with her name on them). Of course she came home without it and was upset about it as if I could somehow remedy the issue.

Good luck with the Technician Class test. Let me know how it goes!

Back from vacation

Just got back from vacation. Damn it's short two weeks...

Anyway, it was my first trip with a GPS. Drove 3800 kms, from Montreal to Washington DC, then Williamsburg VA and finally Myrtle Beach SC. (and back in two days, the full 1700 kms from MB)

All in all, a really nice trip with lots of sunshine.

I'll post a more thorough account in the Travel stories section of the forum, once I'm unpacked.

Wow nice vacation, Myrtle is great this time of year, the ocean is nice and warm. The only drawback is you need tons of money to do anything except the beach. Washington DC is so HOT this month dang, but so rich in history when you include Williamsburg. Glad you had a safe trip and a great time.
