Screen Shots and C530

I have a 2gb SD card in the unit. I have POI's loaded on the SD card which was created by the POI loader. I can't get the screen shot feature to work. I can change the splash screen because I have all my pictures in the folder I created called splash screens. I have the latest firmware update dated 2/7/07 and still have difficulty with the feature?

Screen shot feature

To clarify -- are you trying to capture an image of your GPS screen using Garmin's xImage software?

The c530 has a feature

The c530 has a feature called screen shots under the display menus in tools (when enabled) a small camera Icon shows up. Does this feature allow the gps unit to show the pictures stored on the unit when it is at rest?

530 screen shots feature

The 530 does not have functionality to act as a picture display. You can save pictures to the c530 and set one of them to be the Splash Screen. This is set from the Display tool menu.

What you are looking at is the Screen Shot on the same menu. JM is correct in his explanation. What this does is enable you to save the screen image (i.e. map and car as seen at the time on your c530)as a picture. The bitmap image is saved on your c530 (when you touch the camera icon) in the Garmin\scrn folder. You could later save or move that picture to another drive. Personally, I don't see the value of this, unless you wanted to send it in an email to provide directions for someone.
