See this link for installing custom pois http://www.poi-factory.com/node/85 .The redlight cameras will give you alert of 1/4 mile when you use express mode of poiloader. If you want to increase that distance select manual mode when using poiloader.Set the distance you want for the alert.

Redlight Camera

What I have is a hand written list of redlight camera's in my area. What I need to know is how do I type them on my computer to then transfer them to my gps?

download a sample of a poi here and you will see the structure of the file and use that as an example. You can also read the FAQ's and getting started files located at the top right of each page for a good primer on learning the processes.

If you have excel put Longitude in column a,Latitude in column b,title(redlight)column c and comments or location column d.Once all the info is put in save the file as csv(comma delimited).Make a folder on your computer and call it my pois.Put csv file into my pois folder and run poiloader. Direct poiloader to the my pois folder not the csv file.

Why not spend $5 and download the file for the entire US and Canada? It is highly likely that your locations are already in the file; if not, you can then send the locations to Miss Poi and she will add them for you (and us grin ).

Nuvi 660 -- and not upgrading it or maps until Garmin fixes long-standing bugs/problems, and get maps to where they are much more current, AND corrected on a more timely basis when advised of mistakes.

I'm going nuts here trying all kinds of things, I will be doing that tomorrow.

custom pois

I wouldn't give up.This is a good test to make your first custom poi file.Once you do the first one you will see nothing to it.If you need more help let us know and we will guide you through it.
