Saving Files to Card/Device

Hi All, I am sure this question has been asked before...................but here goes. I have downloded several POI's using the loader. I have downloded them to my card. When I start up the Garmin 650, it says there is new files, then askes if I want to copy it to the device. I have chosen no, as I did not want a bunch of content that I may not use.

My question is, do you have to copy the POI's to the device, or can you access them from the card.

If you have to copy them to your devie, how many files will the device hold?

When I go to "Extras", there is no list of any files/POI's

.

POIs work fine from the card. Locations should be under Extras/Custom-POIs. Make sure you click on "Custom-POIs". If nothing is there, they didn't load.

Say YES!

Does your unit give you the option to say No and Don't Ask Me Again (or something to that effect)?

If so then that's fine. However, if it's like my 760 you have to answer YES and THEN you can get the option to skip the file and not be asked again. That leaves them on the card. Pretty weird way of doing things. You should see them as Custom POIs under Extras.

Should you decide to copy them to the device it can hold a LOT. - especially if you deleted all the voice files you don't use.

I had that same problem with my 880, finally figured it out, just the opposite of my 660 and 680. I wonder why Garmin change the process on this??
