Free Garmin nüvi 200

I applied and recieved my nuvi 200 - as promised - with no spam mail or any other problems, including ss.

i just applied today, looks like offer is still good, will update if i get card and gps

i received my nuvi 200 last friday by usps from Amazon.com
works great with wav sounds and i converted the bean bag i had to allow the suction mount to be used with it. the unit is a present for my daughter - she loves this with 2009 maps

My wife got here free gps unit about 3 week ago and loves it,She alway used my nuvi 680 and the screen are about the same. She will not go anywhere without it.

I just ordered my card. Think it's great, not just for the free GPSr, but I have been looking for a miles card with no annual fee. Two birds, one stone.

Legitimate in every way -- it takes a while (3 weeks) from your first purchase. I am happy to have a second unit so I have one in both cars now

Got a call from Discover today and said card would be here in a week and gpsr would be delivered within 2-3 weeks, after 1st purchase.

I should have waited, they are now giving away the nuvi 270

I just got my free garmin 200 last week. Did a comparison with the garmin 270 and can not find any difference except for the installed maps--(regional) vs (transatlantic). List price is $100 for the map upgrade. Guess I will not be going transatlantic.

I agree it is not a bad deal . Now they are offering garmin 270. I wish i had waited. Mine is also coming in 10 weeks. i already have garmin 200w. I wonder if I can exchange it for something else once it arrives.

I applied for the discovery card deal. It took about a week for the card to be activated after a purchase. I received an e-mail that the card was activated and they are processing the information and to expect the garmin with in 10 weeks. Sounds like everything is going well. I am anxiously awaiting the delivery because I plan to us it for a Christmas present. Free is a hard price to beat. So far so good. Thanks for letting us know about the deal.

Do I have to use the discover card purchasing anything in order to get the free Nuvi 200? Or activate the account by calling them?

You have to phone in to the 800 number to activate the card. After activation, you have to make a purchase(s),
It took me about 3 to 4 weeks after applying to receive my free garmin. Of course the mileage varies.

Looks like the deal is over now. I have one coming though, I expect it Tuesady.

That is sad. One heck of a deal. The best thing is you could return it to amazon for store credit.

I sent in my free 200 back to Amazon last week and recieved a $155.00 on a Gift Card to be used on Amazon. I will be using it on a new GPS.

I'm sorry to hear that this offer has (finally) ended but I'm quite gratified to see that a number of folks followed through and got their free nüvi 200. It was a great offer while it lasted and I'm extremely happy to have helped a few folks by posting about it here.

I did the same and Im going to be getting either a Nuvi 255 for about 30 bucks more or the Nuvi 265T for about 130 bucks more.. Thanks again thrak!!!

Thanks will do that once I receive free nuvi 200 as I have no use for 200 . I already have 200w and will exchange for better one that has lot more features.

I received the e-mail today (oct. 29) saying my free nuvi 200 would be shipped by Amazon etc. and directed me to a page to forward the offer to others. In due time you arrive at a page proclaiming "The Offer Has Been Withdrawn"

First the SSN was not given to the promoter, they only take your name and address and email (well you need the unit do you?), then they forward you to the discover card signup website, where you give out your personal info to apply the card. This is the same as you do anything over the web nowadays.

Signed up and received mine. Took about 5-6 weeks total. Using the Nuvi 200 convinced me to trade in (return)another brand and get a Garmin 760. Totally happy with the 200 and 760. Use the 200 around town and the 760 for road trips where I am less familiar with the streets or directions.

I was expecting 200 since I signed up for that regretting that I should have waited and would have gotten 270 instead. Guess what?
I got 270 today. I am thrilled.
Now I can not decide whether I should return this and spend more money on better one. Or I should keep this one and may be when I go to europe it will be handy.
I am so thrilled as it arrived in less than 3 weeks and what I wanted.
Since I have 200w. 200 would have been useless for me.

I took my $155.00 credit from Amazom and bought a 255W for only $79.00. This was a great deal.

Received my free Nuvi 200 2 weeks ago and told a friend, however, the deal is done, no more free GPS's. I want to thank the guy who let us know of this promotion. This goes to show you there are some good deals out there.

Thanks to Thrak for starting this thread. I received my 270 this week and plan to return it to Amazon for a gift card to use for Christmas presents. My nuvi 350 does everything I need.
I am amazed that this offer generated no spam mail or any other problems.

I signed up when it was the free Nuvi 270 and the emails I received saying my account was activated said I will be receiving my Nuvi 200. Anyone else get this email and still get the 270? No biggie either way, free is free.

And I recieved emails stating that I would recieve a 200, when it came it was a 270....

yes i got email. i will receive nuvi 200 and got nuvi 270. I was elated as I already have nuvi 200W.
I was even signed up for nuvi 200.
The whole process took only 3 weeks once I got my card and used it.

applied 10/15/08 recd nuvi 270 today 11/10/08. less than 1 month after applying. too bad this deal is over, was going to share with some friends. oh well

I activated my card on the 8th. I received my Nuvi 270 today (13th). I have my Maestro 5310 all figured out, now I have to work on this. I can also learn a few new languages as it came with manuals in 11 different languages.

You are quite welcome. When you can do something nice and help one person it's good day. When you can do something that helps a lot of folks it's an even better day. I started this thread in the hope of helping at least one person. For quite a while there were no responses to the topic - I guess folks thought I was crazy and just couldn't recognize a scam - but, after I got my free nüvi and posted again, folks started to take notice. There were a few pretty caustic posts that Miss Poi thoughtfully removed but, once folks started to receive the free units, the responses have been pretty positive. It seems that I managed to help quite a few folks to receive a free nüvi. You have no idea how happy that makes me.
