Chit Chat Thread for the week of July 28th 2008

This is the place to talk about things that are not gps related, you can discuss whatever you would like, as long as it is clean. Remember we have families that have their children involved in the GPS fun and we don't want to make parents feel uncomfortable when their children ask what that word means.

Have fun...

This thread will be closed on Monday and a new one will be opened.

One of Sparky's Old Adventures

I was going through some of Sparky's memorabilia and ran across this old video clip from his past movie experience. This was when he was playing Super Dog in the movie by the same name. He thought you might enjoy the movie promo movie clip.

Sparky's adventures - lovin' it!

I was reading a few old posts and came across a Sparkey going out for coffee post, but the animation is gone. sad

I forgot for a minute that the most current icon replaces all icons even in old posts.

Oh well, maybe Sparkey will go out for coffee again sometime.

P.S. Sparkey is pretty pale, does he not like the sun? smile

Love it!

I love your clip, it's fantastic. Where did you get it or what software did you use to create it?

I created the character in 1984, made 8 childrens books for my nieces and nephews and now great nieces and great nephews. Five years ago I decided to try to take the character and create a animation from a one frame drawing idea.

I use PC Paint to make all my drawings and Coffee Cup Gif Animator to combine the frames into an animation.

Thanks, I am glad you enjoy the ThumbNail Animations.
I appreciate it very much.

I chuckle everytime you post a new one. You should publish the books. If they are anything like the Gifs, you would sell 'em like hot cakes.

New week.

We are off to a new week and was just trying to have some fun. We spent Saturday at the lake and had a wonderful time. We didn't do too much boating, due to fuel prices, but we had fun sitting in coves, meeting people, and just hanging out. The weather turned out to be better than expected, so it was really nice.

Sunday we worked around the house and made some progress on getting some projects completed. We still have a ways to go, but we are getting there.

I just finished another class towards my bachelors degree. I have one class left and then I can graduate. I am scheduled to graduate on November 6th. I can't wait. It has been many years, and a lot of frustration and patience, on my wifes part, so it will be nice to be completed. Of course, I plan on starting my masters next fall but I get to have one winter and summer before going back. Looking forward to some extra time and to working on a couple of projects on here as well.

Well, I guess I have blabbed enough, everyone have a good week.

Comments Made in the Year 1955!
You'll like this : ) grin

That's only 53 years ago!

'I'll tell you one thing, if things keep going the way they are, it's
going to be impossible to buy a week's groceries for $20.00.'

'Have you seen the new cars coming out next year? It won't be long
before $2,000.00 will only buy a used one.'

'If cigarettes keep going up in price, I'm going to quit. A quarter a
pack is ridiculous.

'Did you hear the post office is thinking about charging a dime just to
mail a letter?'

'If they raise the minimum wage to $1.00, nobody will be able to hire
outside help at the store.'

'When I first started driving, who would have thought gas would someday
cost 29 cents a gallon. Guess we'd be better off leaving the car in the
garage.'

'Kids today are impossible. Those duck tail hair cuts make it
impossible to stay groomed. Next thing you know, boys will be wearing
their hair as long as the girls.'

'I'm afraid to send my kids to the movies any more. Ever since they let
Clark Gable get by with saying DAMN in GONE WITH THE WIND, it seems
every new movie has either HELL of DAMN in it.'

'I read the other day where some scientist thinks it's possible to put a
man on the moon by the end of the century. They even have some fellows
they call astronauts preparing for it down in Texas .'

'Did you see where some baseball player just signed a contract for
$75,000 a year just to play ball? It wouldn't surprise me if someday
they'll be making more than the President.'

'I never thought I'd see the day all our kitchen appliances would be
electric. They are even making electric typewriters now.'

'It's too bad things are so tough nowadays. I see where a few married
women are having to work to make ends meet.'

'It won't be long before young couples are going to have to hire someone
to watch their kids so they can both work.'

'Marriage doesn't mean a thing any more, those Hollywood stars seem to
be getting divorced at the drop of a hat.'

'I'm afraid the Volkswagen car is going to open the door to a whole lot
of foreign business.'

'Thank goodness I won't live to see the day when the Government takes
half our income in taxes. I sometimes wonder if we are electing the
best people to congress.'

'The drive-in restaurant is convenient in nice weather, but I seriously
doubt they will ever catch on.'

'There is no sense going to Lincoln or Omaha anymore for a weekend, it
costs nearly $15.00 a night to stay in a hotel.'

'No one can afford to be sick anymore, at $35.00 a day in the hospital
it's too rich for my blood.'

'If they think I'll pay 50 cents for a hair cut, forget it.'

Americans drove 9.6 billion miles less in May 2008 than they did in May 2007. No figures on June yet. We're using more public transportation and carpooling for commuting and making fewer recreational and shopping trips. That has something to do with the decline. Hopefully, we won't go back to the same old habits if the price continues to go down.

It would be sad to see Favre return to the NFL and play for a different team for a couple of years and then fade away.

Same thing happened to Jerry Rice. He had a remarkable career with the 49ers. He should have retired with the 49ers, instead of bouncing around to two other teams.

.

Same thing happened to Joe Montana who went to KC for a year or two at the end. Or am I imagining that? I suppose the money is hard to refuse.
