Should I be concerned?

I have had my Garmin 260W for about a month and just started working with POI's.
Using POI Loader, I have successfully loaded some sites on to my GPS. For various reasons, again using the POI Loader,I have removed them.
Although there has been no problem in doing so, each time I go through the removal process I have concerns that factory installed data i.e maps, poi's etc, might be effected or removed.
Is there any cause to worry about this?

Murray

No concern as the custom

No concern as the custom POI's are installed in a seperate file from the main ones.

I apologize from the get go

I apologize from the get go for asking this here...I cannot find where I should ask this question so again, I'm sorry for interrupting.

How do you delete files you have downloaded from poi factory from the Garmin, I have the 550c, I only want to delete 1 file. Thanks.

Delete POI file

When you load the POI files to your GPS, they all get compiled into one file. The only way to remove one POI file would be to reload all of your files and either delete the file before you load or skip it during the load process.

Well I found instructions in

Well I found instructions in my manual..(finally found it) had to delete all the custom poi's, then I just deleted the file I didn't want from my computer then reloaded them back into my garmin. There should be a way to delete 1 file at a time...oh well..thanks all!!

Another Advantage of Renaming!

There is. This is another huge advantage of using the 'rename' method of loading POIs as explained in the FAQ at:
http://www.poi-factory.com/node/8779
Simply delete that particular renamed file from your unit (assuming your unit is seen as a drive on your computer).
