If no one else on this board knows of the place I'm referring to, then I'll just have to figure it out on my next trip up I35.

A few months ago my wife and I stopped to get gas along I35 somewhere south of Oklahoma City, and perhaps even south of Norman. It was around lunch time and in conjunction with the cashier and little store there was a small restaurant with several women cooking/serving bbq. I convinced my wife to order a couple of brisket sandwiches for the road.

It turned out to be the best brisket sandwich I ever ate. By the time I figured that out, we were already back on the road, and I haven't been able to determine the name or exact location since.

Anyone out there know the place I'm referring to?

Turns out the best brisket sandwich is not really from a dedicated BBQ place after all. The name of the place is the Golsby Store which is run in conjunction with a Valero gas station. It's at the intersection of I35 and Highway 74 in Oklahoma. (434 W Interstate Drive, Goldsby, Oklahoma 73093)

It's a general lunch-type restaurant with many offerings...pizza, chili, hot wings, tamales, and ...chopped brisket sandwich. For that reason, maybe ii shouldn't be included in this POI database; however, I'll sure be stopping back there!

I've been making the updates while PerrDom is away and if the Golsby store gets added would be his decision. As for now I'll leave it out.

I will start looking at the files this week. It may take a bit of time to get up to date. Since I will be retiring June 14th I have to find something to fill the void.

This place is great. I laughed a little at the sign by their hot sauce that said something to the effect of "Hot - Seriously, we're not kidding." Wasn't laughing after I tried it. Several others sauces to choose from as well, but the meat is the real star here. Enjoy.

How can you not avoid using this listing. Nothing like being able to enjoy the summer food season year round.

Fantastic Pulled Pork, Turkey, Sausage, Pork Loin and Brisket. Regis & Kelly's Summer Grill-Off 2009 winner for their pulled pork sandwich. (During the course of four meals over three days at three of the locations I did two sample platters and bought more to take home.) It is that good!

it's a tiny place, so they mostly offer carry-out and catering. seems to be the only place around here that does carolina-style. just look for the bright yellow brick shack.
