Help - Initial POI Upload Problem

I am attempting to make an initial upload of POIs to my Nuvi 650 - either to the base memory or to an SD card..

I have about 2 dozen POIs selected.

When I attempt an express upload I get an error message: "Unable to read from the device G:/Zio River Resort.jpg"

I'm guessing that this file jpg is part of one of the POIs I've selected (e.g. National Parks or Monuments or Zion Natl Park) ?

I do not have any device connected as G .

Can anyone help?

I believe you are doing things out of order or have a file in your POI folder that shouldn't be there.

Do you have any TourGuide files in the group? Since jpg files are not normally associated with csv files, I think you can eliminate them as the culprit. I'm sure somebody will correct me if I'm wrong.

Easiest quick solution would be to add "new" to the extensions of half the non-csv files and then re-load. If the remaining files load, you know that the culprit is among the renamed files. Then you can remove the "new" extension from one file at a time and keep reloading until it fails, pinpointing the problem file.

If it isn't obvious, if the first renaming of 1/2 the non-csv files doesn't allow a clean load, then the culprit is among those whose name you didn't change. Just move the "new" from the first 1/2 to the other 1/2 and proceed as above. This sounds like a lot of work, but probably won't take 10 minutes.

Once you find the file, notify the maintainer of the file or Miss POI so that it can be fixed. Obviously the creator had a jpg on his G: drive and never thought about the fact that not everyone will have it.

Nuvi 660 -- and not upgrading it or maps until Garmin fixes long-standing bugs/problems, and get maps to where they are much more current, AND corrected on a more timely basis when advised of mistakes.

Thank you. I decided to

Thank you. I decided to eliminate files that were anything close to "zio" -- and then see if the rest would work. As soon as I eliminated the "Zion.gpx" file, all the rest loaded promptly. Suspect that there is a problem with that POI file........

Best regards - thanks for the help.......
