Are POI (not favorites) tied to maps? In other words, if I switch maps (ie:world maps or Euro maps)will the POI still work / show up?

..Poi's are points of interest at a specific coordinate
So yes they are map location specific... You can have pois for euro maps etc but they would only work with that map... A world map would be a different story... The poi could still be in your unit though...

Unless you've loaded some custom POI's... they will still be there but they won't be much good unless they include POI locations for the region covered by the new map.
