GPS unit without POI's

I was wondering where I could find gps units that have no poi's on them. It doesn't matter what brand but I do want to be able to add all of the Poi's in certain areas myself.

An example would be adding all the Poi's for a tourist location and no other Poi's for the surrounding areas.

Any suggestions?

POI or no POI, that is the question....

I think you are over-thinking this!

If you get a unit capable of POIs, it's almost certain to come with some already ON it.
If you don't want to use them, then don't.

Hmmmm....OK, maybe the built-in ones will get in the way of displaying YOURS. On my Magellan, you can select what categories of POIs to display. You could turn them ALL OFF.

So maybe you just need to be sure to get a unit where you can disable the built-in POIs.

Well yes, that's pretty much the way it works.
The Mfg's don't want you messing around in their folders!! mrgreen

Red the "Getting Started"

Red the "Getting Started" and "FAQ". There is a lot of info in there as well as past post how POIs work.

As, ka1167 said, that is how POIs work. On Garmins, the custom (the ones that you build yourself) are totally separate from the internal ones. Actually, you can't (even if you wanted too) even see both internal and custom ones at the same time.

Seeing POIs

Mmmmm....I "think" that statement might be a little misleading. You can "see" them both at the same time on the MAP, can't you?
