Nuvi Internal Speaker Volume Not Loud Enough

I was wondering if anyone else out there thinks that the internal speaker (volume) on the Nuvi 750 needs more volume. I realize that the FM xmitter is available, but my area has very few free FM frequencies that don't walk all over my Nuvi. I also like to listen to my satelitte radio (which also has an FM transmitter), and I can't use both at the same time. My solution was to get a pair of small battery powered speakers and plug them into the Nuvi, and place them in the truck with in easy reach. I'm curious as to what other people may have done to work around this, or if my hearing needs to be checked. I usually have the radio going, my 11 yr.old and 15 month old girls talking/singing/crying in the back seat and my wife in the passenger seat. It can be a lot of noise for a poor little Nuvi to overcome. Thanks

speaker volume

i have a garmin 650 and would have to agree with that!
my fix is the aux plug on an aftermarket sony reciver
i installed in my 05 corolla.the speakers sound like a good ideal, but make sure they can run off the cig. lighter. you know when you need them the most the battery,s will be dead! then again you could ask everyone to pipe down back there! (never worked for me )!

First, make sure that the setting for Navigation audio under Wrench/Volume is at least 90%. Assuming that is set correctly, there are limitless suggestions here if you do a search, ranging from cassette adapters to add-on aux input ports for your stereo that allow priority settings for multiple inputs.

Nuvi 660 -- and not upgrading it or maps until Garmin fixes long-standing bugs/problems, and get maps to where they are much more current, AND corrected on a more timely basis when advised of mistakes.

The old StreetPilot 2720 had a Speaker in the Power Cord

Kinda bulky, but much better fidelity and volume that my 680 has now. It would be nice to have a second speaker option for the new models built into the cord, or something.

I keep waiting for the new Garmin models to again get features they had a few years ago, like a turn arrow, favorites folders, etc., before I buy a new one.

Quick fix use the12 volt cord

On my Nuvi, when I use it without 12 volt cord, I need to set the volune to 90. If I plug the cord in, 60 seems to be the same as 90, with the ability to make it much louder.

FM Transmitter for Ipod or Zune

I have problem listening to music on my Nuvi 660 using the built in fm transmitter. It was very bad no matter what available station I used. I can hear zzzttt noise. I found a solution to the problem, I used my Ipod/Zune fm transmitter to connect to Nuvi 660 headphone out. The music and the prompt alerts come out on my car stereo excellent. I'm very happy that I finally found a very simple solution. Hope this help others. Thanks
