Send to GPS Vs. Custom POI

I think I understand what you are saying, but I'm not 100% sure.

The "Send to GPS" feature creates Waypoints/Favorites on the GPS unit. The locations will be in your Favorites until you delete them.

If you want your Custom POIs to be Favorites, you can select one and hit "Save". Then the location will be in both lists.

What I'm trying to figure out is how/why a 'Send to GPS' location is displayed on my unit.

Say, I look up a Burger King in my area and use 'Send to GPS'. If I don't do anything other then turn on my unit and drive to the general area of the Burger King, it will show on the map display of the GPS unit.

I'd like to know why it does that so that I can get my GPS unit to do the same thing for my custom POIs.

What M-Mama is saying is correct...you basically have to tell your GPS unit what to do..don't always expect the software to automatically know...that's really what she is saying here.

What model you have, On mine all i have is a go>> save>> or map, and if i save any of them all it does is make a favorite,

Once again, the "Send to GPS" locations are Favorites on the GPS unit. FAVORITES show up on the map screen at a different zoom level than CUSTOM POIs do.

There's no way to change this.

If you want a location that is on your unit as a Custom POI to display at the same zoom level as the Favorites do, you must save it as a Favorite.

There's currently no way around this.

What are you using, when you say "...send to GPS feature online..."?
